Why tallow

It's close to what your skin already makes

Grass-fed tallow has a fatty-acid profile a lot like your skin's own oils. That's why it sinks in instead of sitting on top.

Nutrients that come with it, not added

Vitamins A, D, E and K are naturally present in grass-fed tallow. I don't add anything synthetic to get them.

Short ingredient list

Grass-fed tallow, organic olive oil, Manuka honey and essential botanical terpenes. No seed oils, no fillers, no synthetic fragrance.

What you'll notice

Deeply moisturizing, it leaves skin soft and supple. With regular use, skin looks smoother and more even, and it softens the look of fine lines.

Questions I get asked

Does it smell like beef?

No. Rendered, grass-fed tallow is close to neutral, and the essential botanical terpenes are what you smell. If you put your nose right in the tin, you might pick up a faint, clean, buttery note.

Will it clog my pores?

Most people find tallow absorbs well, but everyone's skin is different. If you have oily or sensitive skin, try a small amount on your jaw for a few nights before using it all over your face. A little goes a long way.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes. I use it on my face, hands, lips and elbows. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingertips and press it in. Keep it out of your eyes.

How long does a tin last?

With daily face use, a 60 ml tin lasts about 4–6 weeks. The 100 ml glass lasts roughly twice that. If you use it on your body too, it goes much faster. Keep the lid on and store it somewhere cool.

What's in it?

Grass-fed tallow, organic olive oil, Manuka honey and essential botanical terpenes. That's the whole list. No seed oils, no water, no preservatives.

Is it a medicated product?

No. It's a cosmetic moisturizing balm, plain and simple. If you have a skin condition, check with your doctor first. If it doesn't suit your skin, see my guarantee below.

My guarantee
